Today I want to share a book:
Your Mindset Shapes Your Reality:
Make Peace with Yourself and Free Your Emotions
by Ho Chuan-Feng
This book can be divided into three parts.
The first part explains five key traits of emotions:
They are constantly changing, shaped by past experiences, thoughts, and beliefs—
and ultimately reflect our inner world.
The second part focuses on understanding and managing emotions:
Starting with self-observation,
then learning to step back and observe our thoughts and feelings,
and finally, experiencing and accepting emotions as they are.
Because when emotions arise,
we can choose how to respond—and how long to hold onto them.
The third part is about transformation and choices.
The author shares short stories, offering different perspectives on how emotions arise and how to deal with them.
Question
While reading, I found myself wondering—
If we constantly examine ourselves, does it become exhausting?
If we always try to stay positive, are we suppressing something deeper?
After thinking, I reminded myself:
We do not have to follow any book completely.
Understanding ourselves is not about self-criticism,
but about being able to respond—in a way we won’t regret.
We cannot control what happens,
but we can choose how we respond.
And that choice comes from how well we know ourselves.
